When it was “Bush’s War” it was OK to declare defeat as such when the biggest military turnaround in American history since General Grant took over the Army of the Potomac in 1864 was unfolding, but I don’t hear much from the Lefties in Congress now that it’s “their” war.
Unfortunately, Obama was wrong on the Surge, and like Harry Reid was rewarded last Fall at the polls. But, undoubtedly history will reveal that the Surge, while late in the game in getting started, has yielded an environment which is “spiraling upwards” (which has apparently only left the Dems dizzy) and gave Obama the exit strategy he can claim as a victory in 2011.
